Director of Orthopaedics and Fitness at Hillelson-Whipple Clinic
Dr. Whipple is an internationally renowned and widely published orthopaedic surgeon who has practiced in Richmond since 1979.
Dr. Whipple attended Princeton University where he majored in International Law and Organizations and graduated with honors. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Virginia. Following two years of residency in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center, Dr. Whipple served in the U.S. Navy as a general medical officer, then performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Duke University.
Dr. Whipple has been a member of the Board of Editors of six professional journals, and has edited and authored four orthopaedic textbooks. He is a member of twenty-five professional organizations and holds thirteen patents on surgical instruments and implants.
